A 32-year-old man was admitted to the hospital with fever and confusion that progressively became worse over 24 hours. His wife said that he started having flu-like symptoms 3 days prior to admission. The morning of admission he talked about smelling strange odors in their hours, and about seeing pink birds flying around the bedroom. CSF showed increased protein, increased pressure, 25 RBC, 200 WBC, 95% lymphocytes. The MRI is shown in the image. What is the diagnosis?
